Refraction index

The refraction index, also known as refractive index, is an optical material Characteristic . It indicates the ratio by which the phase velocity of light in one medium is lower than in a vacuum. In ray optics, the refractive index is used in order to calculate the angle of deflection of a light beam on the boundary surface between two different materials.
